Awarapan (Hindi: आवारापन, Urdu: آوارہ پن) é um filme de 2007 Bollywood dos criadores de um dos maiores sucessos musicais, Woh Lamhe. É a primeira produção de filmes indianos e paquistaneses comuns. Ele estrelas Emraan Hashmi, Shriya Saran e Mrinalini Sharma. Awarapan lançado na Índia em 29 de junho de 2007 sob a bandeira da Vishesh Films. O filme, dirigido por Mohit Suri, foi produzido por Filmes Vishesh, bem como uma casa de produção paquistanês.
O filme foi dada a permissão para a seleção do Paquistão, o Paquistão Film Censor Board e foi lançado em 06 de julho de 2007 [1].

Awarapan é a história de Shivam (Emraan Hashmi), que busca a felicidade, mas encontra apenas dor e solidão. Ele é um amante ateu de coração partido que, a fim de escapar dos fantasmas de seu passado trágico, se dedica a servir o seu chefe gângster Malik (Rana Ashutosh), que administra uma cadeia de hotéis em Hong Kong. Filho Malik Ronnie auxilia Malik. Malik considera Shivam como seu próprio filho. Eles têm um rival, irmão Malik (Ashish Vidyarthi) e seu filho, Munna. Na verdade, eles são rivais porque Shivam uma vez lutou com o irmão Malik e se recusou a pedir desculpas e Malik apoiou-o sobre isso. Shivam tem um amigo de infância muito perto, Kabir que colaboram com ele.
Um dia, Malik pede Shivam para manter um olho em sua jovem amante Reema (Mrinalini Sharma) enquanto ele estiver ausente em viagem de negócios breve. Reema é um jovem paquistanês que é vítima de tráfico humano. Malik tinha "comprado" a carne no mercado em Bangkok.

Breve Malik é clara: Se Reema é encontrada traindo Malik, Shivam tem que eliminá-la. A partir do momento Shivam sets seus olhos em Reema, seu passado começa a levantar a cabeça. Ele é lembrado de sua amor perdido Aliyah (Shriya Saran) e como ele não conseguiu salvá-la. Aliá e Shivam tinha caído no amor. Quando seu pai descobriu, ele confrontou-os alegando que Shivam foi um gangster. Shivam ofereceu seu pai sua arma dizendo que ele estava disposto a abrir mão de que a vida. Mas seu pai atirou em Shivam que abaixou para evitar a bala. A bala atingiu Aliyah em vez de matá-la e amargurando Shivam para sempre.
Um Shivam noite fica chocado ao descobrir que o Reema inocente tem um segredo namorado Bilal (Rehaan Khan), a quem ela tem escondido e está planejando fugir com. Quando ele confronta-la para eliminá-la, ela afirma que a liberdade é seu direito. Ele fica lembrado de Aliyah está dizendo que se você livre, mesmo sendo um, você encontrar a paz. Assim, ele decide ajudá-la e vai contra Malik para ajudá-la. Malik chocado dá um tiro na ordem vista contra Shivam e funde seu bando com seu irmão.

Shivam consegue salvar Bilal dos homens de Malik. Ele então mata o irmão Malik, Munna e até mesmo Malik em um tiroteio brutal. Quando Ronnie e seus homens pin Shivam e Reema para baixo e tudo parece perdido, Kabir entra na luta e atira um monte deles para baixo. Shivam e Reema escapar, mas Kabir se sacrifica para comprar-lhes tempo. Shivam Reema traz para a doca onde Bilal está esperando com Ronnie e seus homens em perseguição perto. Ele segura-los enquanto eles escapam matando Ronnie e todos os seus homens, mas é mortalmente ferido. Como ele está morrendo, ele vê Aliyah segurando suas mãos e levá-lo para o céu enquanto o barco com velas e Reema Bilal distância.

A música para o álbum do filme foi composta por Pritam. Alguns dos cantores que emprestaram suas vozes para o álbum incluem Mustafa Zahid, Suzanne D'Mello, Rafaqat Ali Khan e Annie. As letras foram escritas por Sayeed Quadri, Asif Ali Baig e Annie.
O filme teve uma forte influência de música paquistanesa. Todas as quatro faixas foram emprestados do outro lado da fronteira e re-criado por Pritam. Awarapan (Hindi: आवारापन, Urdu: آوارہ پن) is a 2007 Bollywood film from the makers of one of the biggest musical hits, Woh Lamhe. It is the first Indian and Pakistani joint production film. It stars Emraan Hashmi, Shriya Saran and Mrinalini Sharma. Awarapan released in India on June 29, 2007 under the banner of Vishesh Films. The movie, directed by Mohit Suri, was produced by Vishesh Films as well as a Pakistani production house.
The movie was given clearance for screening in Pakistan by the Pakistan Film Censor Board and was released on 6 July 2007.[1]

Awarapan is the story of Shivam (Emraan Hashmi), who searches for happiness but finds only pain and loneliness. He is a heartbroken atheist lover who, in order to escape from the ghosts of his tragic past, dedicates himself to serve his gangster boss Malik (Ashutosh Rana), who runs a chain of hotels in Hong Kong. Malik's son Ronnie assists Malik. Malik considers Shivam like his own son. They have a rival, Malik's brother (Ashish Vidyarthi) and his son, Munna. In fact they are rivals because Shivam once fought with Malik's brother and refused to apologize and Malik backed him up on that. Shivam has a very close childhood friend, Kabir who assists him.

One day, Malik asks Shivam to keep an eye on his young mistress Reema (Mrinalini Sharma) while he is away on a brief business trip. Reema is a young Pakistani girl who is a victim of human trafficking. Malik had 'bought' her in the flesh market in Bangkok.
Malik's brief is clear: If Reema is found cheating on Malik, Shivam has to eliminate her. From the moment Shivam sets his eyes on Reema, his past begins to raise its head. He is reminded of his lost love Aliyah (Shriya Saran) and how he had failed to save her. Aliyah and Shivam had fallen in love. When her father found out, he confronted them claiming that Shivam was a gangster. Shivam offered her father his gun saying that he was willing to let go of that life. But her father shot at Shivam who ducked to avoid the bullet. The bullet hit Aliyah instead killing her and embittering Shivam forever.
One night Shivam is shocked to discover that the innocent looking Reema has a secret boyfriend Bilal (Rehaan Khan), whom she has tucked away and is planning to run away with. When he confronts her to eliminate her, she claims that freedom is her right. He gets reminded of Aliyah's saying that if you free even one being, you find peace. So he decides to help her and goes against Malik to help her. Shocked Malik gives a shoot at sight order against Shivam and merges his gang with his brother.

Shivam manages to save Bilal from Malik's men. He then kills Malik's brother, Munna and even Malik in a brutal gunfight. When Ronnie and his men pin Shivam and Reema down and all looks lost, Kabir enters the fight and shoots a lot of them down. Shivam and Reema escape but Kabir sacrifices himself to buy them time. Shivam brings Reema to the dock where Bilal is waiting with Ronnie and his men in close pursuit. He holds them off while they escape killing Ronnie and all of his men but is mortally wounded. As he lies dying, he sees Aliyah holding his hands and taking him to heaven while the boat with Reema and Bilal sails away.

The music for the film's album was composed by Pritam. Some of the singers who have lent their voices for the album include Mustafa Zahid, Suzanne D'Mello, Rafaqat Ali Khan and Annie. The lyrics have been written by Sayeed Quadri, Asif Ali Baig and Annie.
The movie had a heavy influence of Pakistani music. All four tracks were borrowed from across the border and re-created by Pritam. Due to increased awareness of plagiarism in India’s Film Music, all the tracks have been properly credited to their original sources.
