Jerry "Rocco" Patel (Akshay Kumar) e Nick "Hunter" Mathur (John Abraham) veio originalmente para o Reino Unido para estudar como os estudantes estrangeiros na Universidade de Oxford. Alguns anos depois, a vida é boa em sua almofada de Londres confortável. Nick tem um trabalho lucrativo banca de investimento e uma noiva linda, Radhika (Deepika Padukone). Jerry feliz esponjas off seu amigo rico, enquanto trazendo à tona seu sobrinho Veer (Omi Vaidya) e romancing Tanya (Chitrangda Singh). Desi Boyz começou a filmar em 07 de novembro de 2010 [3], e completou filmar em maio de 2011. O filme foi a característica Sonam Kapoor como a atriz principal [4], mas ela recusou o filme. Havia também rumores de que o filme a ser oferecido para Anushka Sharma, mas ela negou. [5] [6] Eventualmente, Deepika Padukone e Chitrangda Singh foram finalizados como o leva feminino. Padukone será visto contracenando com John Abraham, pela primeira vez e Singh irá estrelar ao lado de Akshay Kumar em seu primeiro empreendimento comercial. [7] [8] [9]

Bollywood Hungama deu ao álbum de 4 estrelas em cada cinco, dizendo: "Música de Desi Boyz excede as expectativas. Enquanto um estava certo de que haveria pelo menos um par de chartbusters no álbum devido a razões mencionadas no início, fica claro que o diretor Rohit Dhawan tinham expectativas adicionais de sua equipe aqui. Planetbollywood deu resenha negativa, dizendo: "não há nada de surpreendente aqui e depois Mausam, as expectativas de Pritam eram enormes, mas Desi Boyz simplesmente não cumprir essas. Não é o tipo de trilha sonora que será lembrado nos próximos meses, ele só irá encontrar a sua lugar nas listas de reprodução até que o filme chega ao grande ecrã ", embora dando-lhe um fora 6 de 10. Jerry "Rocco" Patel (Akshay Kumar) and Nick "Hunter" Mathur (John Abraham) originally came to the UK to study as overseas students at Oxford University. Some years later, life is good in their comfortable London pad. Nick's got a lucrative investment banking job and a beautiful fiancee, Radhika (Deepika Padukone). Jerry happily sponges off his wealthy pal while bringing up his nephew Veer (Omi Vaidya) and romancing Tanya (Chitrangda Singh). But then the recession starts to bite, Nick finds himself abruptly downsized, and social services threaten to place Veer in a foster home. What to do? Why, strip off and earn a living as sexy pole-dancers of course! But under their new alter egos Rocco and Hunter, the two friends now become bitter rivals.

Desi Boyz started filming on 7 November 2010[3], and completed shooting in May 2011. The film was to feature Sonam Kapoor as the lead actress[4], but she declined the film. There were also rumours of the film being offered to Anushka Sharma, but she denied this.[5][6] Eventually, Deepika Padukone and Chitrangda Singh were finalised as the female leads. Padukone will be seen opposite John Abraham for the first time and Singh will star opposite Akshay Kumar in her first commercial venture.[7][8][9]
After short on extras for a scene at "Oxford University", the film used website StarNow.com to recruit extras for filming.[10] The first theatrical trailer was released on 23 September 2011, alongside Mausam[11], whilst the second trailer was released alongside Ra.One on 26 October 2011.[12]

Bollywood Hungama gave the album 4 star out of five saying, "Music of Desi Boyz exceeds expectations. While one was sure that there would at least a couple of chartbusters in the album due to reasons mentioned at the very beginning, it is clear that director Rohit Dhawan had additional expectations from his team here. Result is this soundtrack by Pritam which is one of the better 'masala' albums of the year that works as instant coffee and also promises a good shelf life once the film scores at the box office", and chose Subha Hone Na De, Allah Maaf Kare, Make Some Noise For The Desi Boyz, Jhak Maar Ke as their favorite picks.[15]
Planetbollywood gave negative review saying, "there’s nothing amazing here and after Mausam, expectations from Pritam were enormous but Desi Boyz just didn't fulfil those. It's not the kind of soundtrack that will be remembered for months to come, it will only find its place in playlists until the movie hits the big screen", although giving it a 6 out of 10.[13]
